Service Description

In this month-long, bi-weekly course, participants will take a deep dive into understanding how the face works with a goal of elevating their ability to craft appealing, believable and engaging, feature level facial performances. Through an analysis of anatomy and the underlying structures, students will discover the relationships and connections in the face at the heart of effective facial poses. Through lectures, demos, discussions, and short exercises (Assignments and exercise critiques for Tier-2 only), you will gain a deeper understanding of how each part of the face moves and how they all work together. We will explore pitfalls to avoid as well as common mistakes and a host of tips and tricks. We will analyze live action and animated facial performances to gain a better understanding of what works and what doesn't. Each student will walk away with practical knowledge to apply to their own animation projects. Tier-1 ($249) includes lectures, demos and discussions only (No assignments or critiques). Tier-2 ($499) Includes all lectures, demos and discussions, as well as guided short exercises to put your new found skills to work and live critique sessions for you to get feedback on your assignments.
